Silkroad Rally 2025: Through the Alps to Vienna & Budapest

After the exciting start in Brussels, the participants of the Silkroad Rally head straight for the first major challenge: the Alps. The first three days will take us through breathtaking mountain landscapes, past crystal-clear lakes and through charming villages before we arrive in two of Europe's most impressive capitals - Vienna and Budapest.

The crossing of the Alps: an epic start

As soon as we arrive in Germany, the Alpine scenery is already waiting for us. We head through Bavaria towards Austria, where the first passes and hairpin bends present themselves. Highlights on the route:

• Grossglockner High Alpine Road - one of the most spectacular Alpine roads in Europe

• Zell am See - a fantastic backdrop for a short break

• Salzkammergut - Pure postcard landscape

After this mountain crossing, we reach the magnificent imperial city of Vienna.

Vienna: imperial city with charm

Vienna is much more than just Sachertorte and waltzes - the city is a mix of imperial splendor, modern art scene and first-class cuisine.

Must-sees in Vienna:

• Schönbrunn Palace - the former summer residence of the Habsburgs

• St. Stephen's Cathedral - Vienna's landmark with a magnificent view from the tower

• Naschmarkt - Perfect for a culinary journey through local and international specialties

• Prater - Fancy a bit of adrenaline? A ride on the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel is a classic

Budapest: The pearl on the Danube

After a day in Vienna, we travel across the Pannonian Plain to Budapest, one of Europe's most fascinating capitals. The Hungarian capital impresses with its mixture of historical splendor and modern city life.

Highlights in Budapest:

• Parliament - one of the most impressive government buildings in the world

• Fisherman's Bastion & Castle District - with a fantastic view of the city

• Széchenyi thermal baths - the legendary thermal bath in the middle of a palace

• Ruin bars in the Jewish Quarter - a unique nightlife experience

Next stop: The Balkans are calling

After three days full of natural wonders, city trips and unforgettable moments, the journey continues southeast. The Silkroad Rally leaves Central Europe and heads for the Balkans - with the ultimate destination: Istanbul!
